School Library

All students and
their families are able to borrow books and other printed materials from the
school library for seven days at a time. It should then be returned to the
school promptly, as others may be waiting to use it. Reference items are to
stay in the library because of their constant demand at school, and also
because of the difficulty to replace the item should it be damaged, e.g.
encyclopaedias.
Because of the severe
problem of dust and grit we encourage every student to have a draw-string bag
in which to carry library materials to and from the school. A small pillow case is a good substitute for
a draw-string bag.
The collection of books includes picture books, fiction, non-fiction,
reference and audio-visual software.
All children are encouraged to borrow.
The usual borrowing period is for one week. Prep to Year 3 are allowed 1 book,
Years 4 to 6 – 2 books, Years 7 to 12 – 6 books.
